Foundation, the “carbon offest” organisation which opened in April 2009, is to close its doors.
MCFly has just received the following statement from the Chief Exec, Mark Turner
At its meeting on 17th September 2010 the Foundation Board decided that the programme should move to a process of closure with almost immediate effect. This is a direct result of the ?in-year? cuts that the NWDA has been asked to make by the coalition government. NWDA is the main funder of Foundation and we were informed at the Board meeting that funding will no longer be available for the programme. Foundation is one of many projects and programmes across the Northwest that has had to come to an early end.
A couple of members of the Foundation team will be in post up to the end of November to ensure the efficient closure of the programme.
